I can't remember where or when I bought this record, and I think I only did because it was £1 and I thought the cover was promising. However, I only listened to it for the first time yesterday and was instantly blown away. Dorothy Ashby was a jazz harpist (who knew?) and composer, but apparently this album was her R&B breakthrough.
